About your role: International Accountant

Due to solid growth Otovo has established a new service hub in Madrid, which will cover the accounting for most of the Group’s subsidiaries. Accordingly, Otovo has a team of accountants in the hub who are part of the Group’s Finance team. The team currently consists of 2 International Accountants and 3 Senior International Accountants. The allocation of markets between the roles will be assigned based on language skills and previous international experience, the applicant must expect to work with more than one market and that these markets will change based on needs at any time.

The role will work closely with the Senior International Accountants and have exposure to the Operations team in various Otovo markets and the Group Finance team in Norway and become part of a more extensive international financial network. 



Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day Accounting

  • Booking of ingoing invoices and payments

  • General Ledger reconciliations

  • Follow-up of customer and supplier transactions

  • Bank reconciliation

  • Fixed assets management

  • Review and process expense reports

  • Supporting role month-end reporting activities

  • Supporting role in VAT submissions

  • Supporting role in year-end closing and audit

  • Other ad-hoc duties

Job requirements

What we look for

  • Minimum two years of Accounting experience

  • Higher education within economics/accounting is a benefit but not a requirement

  • Professional level of either Spanish, French, Dutch or Portuguese - both written and spoken.

  • Professional level of English

  • Experience with ERP, preferably Oracle Netsuite

  • Experience with MS Office or G Suite

  • Good communication skills: listening and explanatory skills

  • Organization and structuring abilities, helping pursue a large number of tasks

  • Accurate and proactive

  • Reliable and meeting deadlines

  • Strong relationship builder and team player
