Senior Group Controller

Otovo is seeking a Senior Group Controller to join the Finance team. As a Senior Group Controller you will be instrumental in the consolidation and reporting of the financial statements, both internal and external. You have the opportunity to define and develop the financial reporting of the Group, in cooperation with the VP Group Finance. Otovo is a fast-moving company where strategic initiatives impacts financial reporting, and you will be involved in discussing and guiding these initiatives with top management. In addition you will be a close partner for the CFO, country heads and the accountants in the Group’s shared service center in Madrid.


Main responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in, and lead parts of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of the Group financial statements
  • Responsible for follow up of the financial reporting of the Otovo entities, with the highest complexity, including partnering with local management and help them in matters concerning financial reporting and performance management
  • Contribute to, and eventually take over, the consolidation of Otovo Group
  • Contribute to improving the financial reporting process
  • Contribute to developing and testing internal controls
  • Contribute to IFRS compliance, including implementation of new standards. Main responsible for amongst other lease accounting policies and impairment testing
  • Contribute to the budget and forecasting process as well as supporting strategic initiatives (e.g. due diligence relating to acquisitions and divestments, launch of new products or partnerships,)
  • Contribute to the external audit process

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance

  • Strong academic background, solid analytical skills and a commercial mindset

  • 8-10 years’ experience from financial reporting and/or audit, preferably from a large audit firm

  • Experience with IFRS and reporting for a listed company is a benefit

  • Prior experience with ERP or consolidation system is a benefit, preferably Oracle Netsuite

  • Experienced user of MS Office or G Suite

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
